It is easier to build strong children than to repair broken men. For more inspirational quotes, |
Inspirational QuotesThese are some of my favorite quotes. They both motivate and ground me in the knowing that service is a necessary part of living -- that in true giving we all receive. Look for our quote of the week and and click here for websites featuring inspirational messages! Service is the rent we pay for living. Each one, teach one . . . to whom much is given, much is required . . . If I get there before you do, I am obligated to bore a hole and pull you through. It takes a village to raise a child. Peace begins with a smile. To the world, you may be one person, but to one person, you may be the world. Live with intention. Walk to the edge. Listen hard. Practice wellness. Play with abandon. Laugh. Choose with no regret. Continue to learn. Appreciate your friends. Do what you love. Live as if this is all there is. You learn, you earn, you return. There is always something left to love. And if you ain't learned that, you ain't learned nothing. Thousands of candles can be lighted from a single candle, and the life of candle will never be shortened. Happiness never ceases by being shared. Dedicate your life to a cause greater than yourself, and your life will become a glorious romance and adventure. Blessed is the influence of one true, loving human soul to another. The measure of mental health is the disposition to find good everywhere You have within you the strength, the patience, and the passion to reach for the stars and change the world! True Compassion is more than flinging a coin to a beggar; it comes to see that an edifice which produces beggars needs restructuring. If we all did the things we are capable of doing, we would literally astound ourselves. We shall be judged more by what we do at home than what we preach abroad. Be the change you want to see in the world. Doing a good service is like throwing a rock into a pond, the ripples just go on and on. It is easier to build strong children than to repair broken men. If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together. Our lives begin to end the day we are silent about things that matter. A good head and a good heart are always a formidable combination. A woman is like a tea bag... you never know how strong she is until you put her in hot water. The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others. Great spirits have always encountered violent opposition from mediocre minds. Everybody can be great...because anybody can serve. You don't have to have a college degree to serve. You don't have to make your subject and verb agree to serve. You only need a heart full of grace. A soul generated by love. You give but little when you give of your possessions. It is when you give of yourself that you truly give. No act of kindness, however small, is ever wasted. Even if I knew that tomorrow the world would go to pieces, I would still plant my apple tree. Feeling gratitude and not expressing it is like wrapping a present and not giving it. If you give a man a fish, he will have a single meal. If you teach him how to fish, he will eat all his life. The one thing we can all agree, all faiths and ideologies, is that God is with the vulnerable and poor. God is in the slums, in the cardboard boxes where the poor play house... God is in the silence of a mother who has infected her child with a virus that will end both their lives... God is in the cries heard under the rubble of war... God is in the debris of wasted opportunity and lives, and God is with us if we are with them. Find out how much God has given you and from it take what you need; the remainder is needed by others. If you can't feed a hundred people, then feed just one.
